Surviving Paradise - One Year on a Disappearing Island Peter Rudiak-Gould

Located 70 miles from the nearest telephone and 2000 miles from the closest continent, 'Surviving Paradise' is a gripping account of Peter Rudiak-Gould's year on the disappearing Marshall Island of Ujae. He tells well detailed and sometimes hilarious stories of his time on this remote atoll. From teaching the children of the village English, to learning to fish with the island's most skilled spearfisherman, and even surviving the 'Curse of the Ancient Chieftess'.

Peter provides a fascinating insight into the traditional ways of life on Ujae, whilst seeing first hand the impact global warming has on this piece of paradise, which could be lost forever.

Peter Rudiak-Gould's 'Surviving Paradise - One Year on a Disappearing Island' is due for release in the UK on 7th January 2010. Currently only available in the US.

Travel Titbits will be interviewing Peter Rudiak-Gould prior to the UK launch.
